Hello, I’m Tess Raynes, a writer with a passion for turning life’s quirks and challenges into compelling stories. What began as a therapeutic exercise has blossomed into a full-fledged writing career, uncovering my calling in the process. My work spans diverse genres, from heartwarming anecdotes to thrilling mysteries, reflecting the variety of experiences and inspiration life has to offer.

Hello there! I’m Tess Raynes—an executive with a master’s degree whose writing journey began with a simple suggestion from my therapist: “Just get it out of your head.” What started as a therapeutic outlet to process the chaos of caregiving, the pandemic, and a lifetime of twists and turns quickly evolved into my greatest passion. Today, writing is not just my calling—it’s my purpose.
My debut psychological thriller, Gone Mia: Deadly Deception, invites readers into a gripping game of cat and mouse that keeps them hooked from start to finish. Its praise for relentless suspense and unexpected twists inspired my second murder mystery thriller, Chill of Truth: Danger and Betrayal in the Arctic Polar Bear Capital: A Murder Mystery Thriller. Set to release in early March, this novel plunges readers into the frozen tundra, weaving suspense, murder, and mystery into a breathtaking and perilous setting.
On a lighter note, I’ve also authored The Adventures of Roscoe the Black Labrador series—heartwarming children’s books inspired by one of my favorite furry companions. Perfect for young readers, this five-book series teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, kindness, and friendship. With the first two books already beloved by readers, I’m thrilled to announce that Book 3 will be released in summer 2025.
My writing reflects the rich tapestry of my life. From Mysteries and Thrillers to Children’s Books and even a Romance, my stories draw from real-life adventures, the colorful characters around me, and a vivid imagination that continues to surprise me. No matter the genre, my goal is always to craft stories that entertain, captivate, and leave a lasting impression.
When I’m not writing, you’ll likely find me by the lake, sipping a favorite drink, sharing stories with my loyal pups, and dreaming up new tales to tell.
I’m especially excited about my upcoming novel, Willow Branch Road: Forbidden Family Secrets, which marks my first venture into Romance. But don’t worry—my heart will always belong to Mysteries and Thrillers.
